What is WIC?
WIC is a health and nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food, breastfeeding support and counseling, and other services free of charge to Massachusetts families who qualify. Our goal is to keep pregnant women, postpartum women, breastfeeding women, and their children up to the age of five healthy.
To apply for WIC, call the WIC Program in your community or go online to start an application.

WIC Offers:

Free personalized nutrition consultations. WIC participants enjoy individual appointments with nutritionists who focus on their own particular circumstances to help keep their family healthy.

Free, healthy food. Our food packages offer fresh healthy options, organic options are available, as well as fresh and frozen options.

Breastfeeding education and support: We have Certified Lactation Counselors staff available in our offices to help with lactation support. We also have Breastfeeding Peer Counselors who are certified and available to help during off office-hours.

Referrals to other services that can benefit the whole family; such as medical and dental care, health insurance, child care, employment, training programs, children's playgroups, housing, fuel assistance, etc...

Much More: WIC also offers breastfeeding classes, one-on-one breastfeeding support, as well as immunization screening and referrals. WIC provides parents with opportunities to talk with other parents about nutrition and other health topics that are important to their families. WIC offers Food Demos, Cooking Demos, Fitness Classes, in the office and in the community.
Who is Eligible for WIC?
If you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under 5, you can apply for WIC for your child.
You can participate in WIC if you:

Live in Massachusetts

Have a child under 5 years old

Are pregnant or breastfeeding
-
Have a family income less than WIC Income Guidelines (see below)

Participants with Mass Health Standard are automatically eligible for WIC

SNAP participants are automatically eligible for WIC
